Bio/Description

Stefan Buller is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University.  He received his Ph.D. in Fusion Plasma Physics, Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg in 2019, and his M.S. in Physics and Astronomy in 2015 also from Chalmers University of Technology.

His research includes particle and energy transport in tokamaks and stellarators, the two leading concepts for confining plasma to extract energy from nuclear fusion. He is also interested in using analytical and numerical tools to study how particles and energy leaks out of these magnetically confined plasmas, and in parallel, the optimization of stellarator designs. He has worked at the University of Maryland in College Park  (2019-2023), before joining Princeton in 2024.
