Bio/Description

Dr. Sengupta's research explores the magnetic confinement of plasmas in various geometries. He uses asymptotic methods to understand the interaction of nonlinearities and geometric factors in confined plasmas. Of particular interest is the study of magnetic fields with a hidden symmetry that hold promise for next generation stellarators. He is also interested in exploring kinetic theory and plasma turbulence through simple solvable models.
